Email is one of the basics of communication in any organization and its importance can hardly be overemphasized. Good and effective emails are required not only for good business communication but also for good and successful business. In written communication, text matter in the message reflects your thinking. So, written communication or message should be clear, purposeful, and concise with correct words, to avoid any misinterpretation of your message. Email is currently the most used communication channel in the business environment. Although personal communication has steadily to social media and instant messaging in the 21st century, business still relies heavily on email for sending messages across long distance in a short time. Business email etiquette encompasses a set of rules indicating effective, proper, polite and effective ways to behave when using the email as a communication channel. The rules of etiquette are centered on how messages should look and what they should contain, so this book is built around email appearance and contents with examples. The First Chapter of the book will provide a general overview of email as a communication channel, guiding readers through some of the key moments in email history, stating a few facts about where email stands today and defining the concept of email etiquette. The next four chapters will present the rules of the most important sections in email which are "Subject lines, Salutations, Signature and Sign off" with examples. The other chapters will cover the concept and importance of follow up email and also will have case studies with explanation of many emails in many cases with different aims. I, sincerely, hope that this book will be helpful to all levels of employees, managers and management or communication students in developing effective email writing skills.
